FIHL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Present: Gary Jenkins, Mike Hurle, Lesley Farmery, Les Finnan, Lynn Parry, Susan Davies, Clive Townsend and Andy Vose
Chairman’s Report: Gary Jenkins: THE POSITIVES: when setting up the league it was thought no more than twenty teams would register FIHL did have twenty-six teams. New leagues are difficult to set up, FIHL focus was to have good hockey free from politics also too establish regular match days.
Players have enjoyed plating in the GBHI conference playing against better players
THE NEGATIVES:
It would have been good to have had more tournaments and closer ties with BIPHA
Gave an overall score 0f 6 out of 10
Gary Thanked Mike for all his hard work
Mike Hurle: The league would not have been able to run without
There has been a lack of referees at times; other leagues are having similar problems. A thank you to all teams for putting up with last minute changes, the league has suffered some hiccups but we have seen some good hockey played.
All teams that finished bottom of the league have shown an improvement as can be seen from the difference in the scores when these teams played the better teams the second time round the score was down by half.
This season was a good season and with all working together the forth-coming season can only be better.
We have 22 days booked for league games, a weekend at the beginning and end of the season for tournaments and 4 for open tournaments (2 Saturdays/2 Sundays)
FIHL members will have first chance at tournaments if no response will be open to others outside the league
Chaddy should have won the 14/16 but had to concede games. The seniors went down to the last day.
The results are posted on the web at www.fihlinlinehockey.bravehost.com
It was good to see that the fair-play awards went to four different clubs and teams who had not won anything else
Two dates have been set for the referee’s course we are awaiting confirmation. Cost will be £15 per person. All referees will have to attend a refresher course once a year and required to have a child protection certificate
Treasurers Report: This has been difficult to produce. Their have been three treasures since the league was set up and all do the job differently. This will be published later and be made available to all clubs
At present the account has £1.2k but the league has outstanding bills to pay and also owes Team Predators £100.
Some clubs left their bonds in for next season only
Financial changes for next season The Arena cost have been increased and also reflect the difference in age groups which the leisure centre did not do during the first season..
16’s, 18’s and SENIORS will be £30 per game
12’s and 14’s will be £27 per game
Players registration will be £5
Registered Players playing up will be £2. 50.
Their will be match day paying in and out forms to see if there is a credit or deficit on the day.
The latter half of this season was not a good one financially, what has been booked has to be paid for whether used or not.

Andy informed the committee that Glossop had enjoyed their first season and generally felt it was well run for a first season and great for development.
Clive Apologised for not being too involved all players had enjoyed their first season. Has enough players for two teams in the 14’s. Will inform the league of their intentions after club meetings
Sue This has been her first season with roller hockey and has enjoyed herself she hopes to become more involved. Suggested had tiered banding for clubs or use part of bond when clubs fail to honour fixtures.
Lesley Players have enjoyed their first season in the league. General feedback has been with regards the positive camaraderie between clubs. Players feel they have shown an improvement in their game play and appreciated the positive feedback from some of the clubs.
Mike Suggested that FIHL players become associated members of GBHI this could make them eligible to play in the conference, Nationals, and inter-nationals. Also could be an opening for GB academy. First two teams in league would be eligible to go forward for the nationals.
Mike proposes we become associated member have our own committee, player registration for this would be £5 (needs to go out to registered clubs). Mike and Lesley are to put together a proposal.
Les.F. felt the conference teams started late which reflected in the final results. Teams need to be organised as soon as clubs have registered those who played for the conference automatically go to training the following season. Managers and coaches need to be in place promptly.
Mike thanked all for attending and proposed that at least one rep for each club attend meetings.
